About the Event
If you're a small-medium business, solopreneur and creative in Hawaii, you might be leaving money on the table if you are NOT accepting crypto — the future of finance. Just over the course of one year, there are 12 MILLION more Americans that hold crypto today*. In Hawaii alone, there are 249,000 crypto holders, with our state ranking 40th in the nation. About This 1-hour, in-person workshop is geared towards Hawaii-based SMB owners, solopreneurs and creatives who are crypto-curious and interested in learning why and how blockchain technology and crypto is relevant to their businesses — from the perspective of consumer payments. We will look at the shift of the Internet infrastructure and how blockchain technology helps reduce processing/transaction costs, allowing YOU keep more of your hard-earned money. If you are based in Oahu, you are encouraged to join our in-person workshop (there will be a short networking event after!). For participants from our neighbor islands, please visit this link for the virtual workshop. *National Cryptocurrency Association Speaker Ellen Ng is the founder of Inoa, a Hawaii-based blockchain technology consulting and education firm. Prior, she led the State Government of Hawaii’s Digital Currency Innovation Lab (DCIL), a pilot program established to create a regulatory framework for crypto exchanges operating in Hawaii. She is also the organizer of the Pacific Blockchain Summit, the first of its kind in the Pacific. A strong advocate of sensible crypto regulation, she serves as the Hawaii Chapter President with Stand With Crypto. Ellen is passionate about helping Hawaii's SMBs leverage technology to increase revenue and optimize costs. During her time as the economic development specialist at the Hawaii Technology Development Corporation (HTDC) under the Hawaii State Government Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT), she guided more than 100 local SMBs during COVID in the adoption of e-commerce so that they could expand their market reach during months of lockdown. In 2021, Ellen was selected by Pacific Business News as 40 Under 40 Honoree (Class of 2021) for her work in economic development. Sponsors / Supporters Sponsored by Stand With Crypto, a national crypto advocacy nonprofit, this workshop is organized by Inoa, a Hawaii-based blockchain technology consulting and education firm.
