About the Event
AI is increasingly shaping everyday life, from how people search for information and communicate to how decisions are made in education, healthcare, media, and public services. At the same time, many people have questions, concerns, and mixed feelings about these changes. The Citizen AI Project is an open space for neighbors, workers, organizers, educators, artists, technologists, students, and anyone curious about the growing role of AI in society. Through conversation and shared reflection, we hope to create a space where different perspectives and experiences can be heard. Rather than approaching this as a technical discussion, we hope to create a space for open conversation between people with different experiences and perspectives. No expertise in AI is needed. Curiosity, questions, skepticism, and lived experience are all welcome. A light dinner will be served. Community members will receive a compensation for their participation to help offset transportation costs and effort ($50). Note: Participants will receive a QR code for building access at the Interchurch Center on the day of the event. If you do not receive your code, please contact our team. Questions? Please contact our team at cfc2149@columbia.edu
