About This Event
Hackathon mobile demos all die at the same place. The simulator works, the real device doesn't. The App Store rejects the binary. The first real user opens the app, sees "you need 0.1 SUI to make this transaction," and never opens it again. Almost no Sui mobile project has crossed the chasm from "I made a thing that signs a testnet transaction" to "people I don't know have it installed on their phone and use it." This session is about that chasm. Sponsored transactions so users never need SUI to start. Push notifications driven by on-chain Sui events so they come back. Mainnet zkLogin with the prover service, salt management, and OAuth redirect URIs configured for real distribution. A TestFlight or Play Store internal build at the end of the day, installable on a real device — the artifact that separates a demo from a product.
What You'll Learn
- The sponsored-transaction architecture on Sui — what a gas station service actually does, how to run one (or use a hosted one), and how to wire your mobile app to pay zero gas at the user level - How to listen for on-chain Sui events and turn them into mobile push notifications via APNs (iOS) or FCM (Android), so your dApp can drive user re-engagement without polling - Mainnet zkLogin in detail — the production prover service, salt handling at scale, OAuth redirect URI configuration for App Store Play Store builds, the differences from testnet that catch every mobile team off guard - Deep links and universal links — handing off between your mobile app and other Sui apps without breaking the user out of the experience - The release pipeline — building a signed iOS archive, uploading to TestFlight, or assembling an Android internal app-sharing bundle and distributing to real testers - The mobile-specific failure modes that will eat your launch — backgrounded zkLogin sessions, expired OAuth tokens, network flakiness during signing, App Store review rejections specific to crypto apps
Who Should Attend
- Builders who attended Day 1 and want to take their zkLogin mobile app from working to shippable - Mobile teams who already have a Sui dApp prototype and are stuck somewhere between testnet and the App Store - Anyone planning to submit a mobile-first project for post-Overflow recognition or follow-up grants - Builders who've watched their consumer crypto app stall at "needs gas to use" — sponsored transactions are the answer
What to Bring
- Your laptop with the mobile project from Day 1, or any working Sui mobile dApp - A physical iPhone or Android device with the cable to plug it in — push notifications and TestFlight installs don't work on simulators - An Apple Developer account ($99yr) if you're going to TestFlight, or a Google Play Console account ($25 one-time) for internal Play Store distribution - A small mainnet SUI balance (~1 SUI) for funding your sponsored-tx gas station for the day - Your Google or Apple OAuth client credentials from Day 1 (we'll add the mainnet-ready redirect URIs) - Node.js 20+, pnpm, Xcode 15+ (if iOS), and Sui CLI
