Seeds of Change: Urban Food Systems in Singapore Curious about urban food systems in Singapore? Or already involved in food or community initiatives and want to better understand what shapes how we grow, share, and value food? Join us for an interactive workshop using the Iceberg Model—a systems thinking approach that helps surface the deeper patterns, structures, and mindsets influencing our food system. Grounded in the theme Farm Our Heart, this session explores how farming can cultivate connection and kampung spirit, offering shared insights into how care, community, and stewardship show up in our urban food landscape. Date: 18 Apr Saturday Time: 9.15am - 12.30pm Location: Kampung Kampus, 11 Chencharu Close, S769287 (see directions here) In just three hours, you'll: ✔️ Observe visible activities in Singapore’s community farming landscape and reflect on what they reveal about our communities and practices. ✔️ Uncover the deeper patterns, structures, and mindsets that shape how food is grown, shared, and valued. ✔️ Walk away with practical insights to nurture a kampung spirit through farming. Includes a GUI farm tour and GUI community lunch! Lunch is optional and will start after the session at 12.30pm Who should attend: Individuals interested in food, farming, and community in Singapore Ground-up organisers, growers, and volunteers nurturing kampung spirit through food Educators, practitioners, or policymakers curious about systems thinking and urban food challenges Anyone who wants to better understand how food, care, and community are connected in a complex urban system Case Study Provided by Cai Bingyu, Kampung Architect, Groundup Initiative Facilitated by Pei Ya Boon, Founder, The Shoal Co Lee Zhong Han, Learning Facilitator, Host Lab Priyadarshini Thillainathan, Founder, Chrysalis Quest Leadership Consulting
